#4OurOcean: A Distant Way to Celebrate Earth Day

Being cooped up in quarantine can sometimes make it feel challenging to do something positive for our planet. Beaches are closed, reusable bags at grocery stores are frowned upon, along with a heaping list of other challenges eco-friendly folks are up against. With Earth Day this week, the pressure is on to show some love to our planet while in isolation.

That is why we created the #4OurOcean challenge to honor the 50th anniversary of Earth Day on April 22nd, 2020. The challenge is simple; all you must do is:

  1. Take a video or photo of yourself performing a positive action for our oceans-some examples can include:
  • Recycling
  • Saving Water
  • At-home composting
  • Spreading awareness on an endangered marine species or marine conservation issue
  • Using a sustainable product
  1. In your video/photo, challenge your family and friends to also partake in the challenge
  2. Share your photo or video onto either Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, and tag us along with the hashtag #4OurOcean. (Sharing onto your stories on Instagram and Facebook is all very acceptable)!

After that, you’ll then have the chance to be featured on our page for Earth Day! There’s a lot we can do to help our ocean even from inside our homes. Join us in recognizing the importance of Earth Day, along with the importance of protecting our ocean and planet even when it becomes more of a challenge to do so.
