Birthday Parties with Ladder, the 65-foot Inflatable Fin Whale
Ladder is a 65-foot inflatable fin whale modeled after a real fin whale who we have seen in the Gulf of Maine almost every summer since 1996. He got the name Ladder from the propeller scars on his right side, which were caused by a boat strike. Your participants can learn about whales from our experienced educators, and actually go inside Ladder and see his ribs, heart and jawbones!
Ladder can come to your site (indoors or outdoors, weather permitting) or one of our partner sites!
Birthday parties with Ladder include: 
- Interaction with our knowledgeable educators, who will provide an introduction to whales and a brief program inside Ladder to learn about whale anatomy and conservation. Participants will also get to see real whale baleen.
- Age-appropriate activity sheets or crafts that can be done on-site or taken home
- Whale adoption kit for the birthday child
Additional information
- Pricing:
- $200 for party in your own indoor space (must be at least 65′ long, diagonal dimensions ok)
- $250 for party in our space (we currently have a partnership with Rye Congregational Church, which has a great facility for parties)
- $250 for party outdoors at your space
- Pricing above includes 30 minutes of dedicated time with Ladder, and Ladder will be on site approximately 45-60 minutes total including setup and breakdown. Additional activities (games, traveling tide pools, etc.) and time available for an additional donation.
- Activities geared toward ages 4-12
- We require 1 adult chaperone per every 5 children
- Environmentally-friendly paper goods, additional activities and/or traveling tide pools program available for an additional fee.
- Party host may provide food and/or a cake. No balloons, please!
