#TipTuesday DIY tin can turkey!

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, you’ll find yourself with some extra recyclables and trash around. But there’s no need to throw it out! Take your cranberry sauce can and transform it into this cute Thanksgiving decoration: a tin can turkey!

Materials needed:

  • Tin can, emptied and washed
  • Dried leaves
  • Paints and painting materials (colors: brown, red, yellow, orange, white & black)
  • Hot glue gun

Directions:

1. Clean and washout your tin can thoroughly and paint it brown. Let it dry and give it another coat.
2. Once its dry, paint on the eyes and the rest of the face.
 3. For the feathers, I used dried leaves and gave them a coat of paint. Let them dry and give them another coat. Feel free to use other materials sitting around your house such as fabric, paper, real feathers…get creative!
 4.  Once the paint is dry, use the hot glue gun to glue the feathers to the back of the tin can.

 5. Ta-da your turkey is ready to decorate your Thanksgiving table!
